With experience ranging from the artistic director of a non-profit theater to a performer on Broadway, Jodi Eichelberger comes to us with a wealth of background in the performing arts.  He was an active storyteller in the New York storytelling community. He told stories at The Moth and SpeakEasy Stories.  A community storytelling show in Brooklyn called “Stories 4” was his first venture producing a storytelling show.  He also produced a podcast of personal narratives called “The Acorn People” for several years.

Jodi Eichelberger is the author of Audience of One: Stories of Stage, Screen, and Solitude,  a book of personal narratives taking you on a journey from the back alleys of his hometown in Boise, Idaho to the boards of Broadway. The stories range from deeply personal to an insider’s view of popular entertainment Jodi worked on such as the Tony award-winning Broadway musical Avenue Qthe popular children’s television program Lazytownand a below-ground view of the children’s television character Elmo in the feature film Elmo in Grouchland. It is this background in puppetry that led him to create and perform the “Sheepish Slam,” where he lip-syncs with our black sheep puppet live to a storyteller’s words. Check out a video version of a Sheepish Slam.

Since coming to Boise, Jodi has performed as an actor with Alley Repertory Theater and Boise Contemporary Theater. He is also the Program Director for Surel’s Place, an artist in residency program.
